Lead Data Engineer

About The Role

You will define the technical strategy for our data architecture, shaping how we build and scale our analytical capabilities. By mentoring our engineering team and setting high standards for data quality, you ensure our infrastructure remains resilient and reliable. Your leadership directly influences our ability to deliver actionable insights across the organization.

In this role, you spend your time designing complex data models, optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, and conducting peer reviews to maintain code integrity. You partner with analysts and architects to translate business goals into high-performance technical solutions. Success here is defined by your ability to lead through influence, delivering clean, scalable data flows while fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in data engineering and analytics engineering

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, and dbt

  • Demonstrated mastery in data pipeline orchestration and advanced data modeling

  • Hands-on experience with Fivetran, Apache Airflow, Docker, Azure DevOps, and GitHub

  • Strong background in cloud technologies and data warehousing

  • Nice to have: Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support enterprise reporting

  • Build and optimize scalable, resilient ETL/ELT pipelines using best-in-class orchestration tools

  • Elevate technical quality by enforcing SQL best practices and conducting thorough code reviews

  • Partner with analysts and architects to align data engineering solutions with business strategic goals

  • Mentor team members to foster technical skill development and maintain high engineering standards

  • Improve database performance through strategic partitioning, indexing, and proactive monitoring

  • Manage code release cycles and version control to ensure system stability and reliability
