About The Role

As a Lifestyle Category Merchandising & Tenant Partnership Strategist, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of non-book and counter assortments within our Specialty Stores and Improved Gramedia formats. This role is crucial for curating, displaying, and managing inventory to enhance the overall customer experience and drive sales across various lifestyle categories.

You will identify and develop strategic partnerships with new brands that align with our store concepts, ensuring quality and sales potential through effective collaboration models. Furthermore, you will analyze market trends and customer preferences to inform category development and optimize store layouts for an engaging browsing experience.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in Merchandising/Category Management, Buying (Retail/Lifestyle/Concept Store), or Brand/Partnership/Tenant Development

  • Understanding of lifestyle product categories and market trends

  • Experience in merchandising and category planning

  • Ability to understand various partnership models (e.g., consignment, revenue share)

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and derive insights

  • A keen sense for lifestyle products and emerging trends

  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • High sense of ownership

  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams (VM, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising)

  • A network or experience working with brands/suppliers is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and curate product assortments for lifestyle categories, including stationery, creative goods, gifts, lifestyle products, and wellness/home/art-related items, tailored to customer profiles and store concepts

  • Identify and develop partnerships with new potential brands, assessing alignment with store concepts, product quality, and sales potential through various collaboration models

  • Identify opportunities for tenant/counter development (F&B & Lifestyle) that enhance the in-store experience and align with customer profiles

  • Design product display strategies and planograms to optimize browsing experience through effective zoning and category grouping

  • Monitor and analyze sell-through, inventory turnover, and space productivity to provide recommendations for category adjustments or expansions

  • Stay updated on lifestyle, creative industry, and retail trends, understanding customer preferences in each location to guide category direction and tenant partnerships
